What does it take to get famously silent David Bowie to speak out publicly?? Evidently, fashion.
Following a report in the U.K.'s The Guardian newspaper that he would curate an exhibition of his costumes at London's Victoria & Albert Museum, Bowie wrote on his official Facebook page, "Contrary to recently published reports relating to the announcement by the V&A of an upcoming David Bowie Exhibition, I am not a co-curator and did not participate in any decisions relating to the exhibition. The David Bowie Archive gave unprecedented access to the V&A and museum's curators have made all curatorial and design choices."
Then, in a dig at the U.K.'s notorious tabloid press, Bowie adds, "A close friend of mine tells me that I am neither 'devastated,' 'heartbroken' nor 'uncontrollably furious' by this news item."
The show, minus Bowie's input, will debut next year and illustrate his unique career and his constantly changing identity through his collection of fashions.? The Victoria & Albert Museum will make an official announcement on September 3 regarding the exhibition.
