M. Golf. Men's Golf Continues Spring Schedule at Villanova Invitational

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's golf team spent a sunny afternoon in Philadelphia preparing to play in the Villanova Invitational, which starts on Monday, April 1 at the White Manor Country Club in Malvern, Pa. The tournament concludes on Tuesday, April 2.

In addition to host Villanova, the other 19 participating teams are Binghamton, Central Connecticut State, Delaware, Drexel, Fairleigh Dickinson, Georgetown, Hartford, Hofstra, Long Island, Penn State-Abington, Rider, Sacred Heart, St. Joseph's, St. Peter's, Siena, Temple, Towson, Villanova, Wagner, and Youngstown State.

The Hoyas are coming off a 19th place finish among 29 teams at the C&F Bank Intercollegiate, hosted last week by the College of William & Mary at the River Course at Kingsmill in Williamsburg, Va. The Hoyas were in 10th place after the first day of play, on Sunday, but struggled in the final two rounds and finished with a 54-hole score of 51-over par 903.

Georgetown finished in seventh place at the Villanova Invitational last year, posting a 36-hole score of 47-over par 615

Senior Taylor Hall (Roswell, Ga./Trinity Catholic) posted his third-straight round of 3-over par 74 and led the team last week, tying for 32nd place at 9-over par 222.

Freshman Greg Podufal (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) posted a 3-over par 74 in the final round and finished in a tie for 63rd place at 15-over par 228.

Senior Brian Dorfman (Greenwood Village, Colo./Cherry Creek), junior Curtis Loop (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) and sophomore Charlie vonArentschildt (Scottsdale, Ariz./Deerfield Academy) tied for 76th place at 17-over par 230. Dorfman shot a 7-over par 78 on Tuesday while Loop finished the tournament with a 6-over par 77 and VonArentschildt posted an 8-over par 79.
